Turn Movement - woven-planet/opensafety-mbse GitHub Wiki

An inside or outside turn direction permitted from an Entrance Lane is a Turn Movement. These are typically designated with arrows painted in the Entrance Lane, by signs and/or signal arrows or even a traffic officer’s hand gesture. This type of movement is special in that, depending on the turn direction, it may be necessary to yield to oncoming traffic, pedestrians in an active crosswalk or both.

The destination Road Segment may not be thru-paired (see R64) with that of the Entrance Lane, since that would constitute a Thru Movement.

Identifiers

Attributes

Direction

Whether this is an inside (left in the USA, etc, right in Japan, etc) or outside turn.

Type: Inside Outside :: [ inside | outside | uturn ]

Closed exit crosswalk on go

A crosswalk is ‘closed’ when pedestrians are prohibited from crossing. This attribute indicates the expectation and not the actual status of the Exit Crosswalk assuming this Turn Movement. For example, an outside turn on Go (right turn on green in the USA) typically expects the Exit Crosswalk to be ‘open’. An inside protected turn expects the crosswalk to be ‘closed’.

Type: Boolean (True = Pedestrians not allowed to cross)
