We may detect points in the Road up ahead where the usage or drive-ability of a given Driving Lane changes significantly. For example, the current Driving Lane might transform into a carpool lane in the next mile. Or we may see that the paved surface becomes gravel in a few meters. We can also observe changes to the traversal rules that apply to a Driving Lane such as permission to overtake into oncoming traffic or the permission to move laterally into another forward lane.

Regardless of which feature changes, it changes at some specific or estimated distance up ahead. Depending on the type of feature, there may be additional information associated with it.

Where the change begins to take effect. Let’s say the Ego Vehicle is passing a sign indicating that there is a change to the road pavement in 100 meters. The location would then be +100m.
