Downloading your data files
To use our website, you need to have some data files at your disposal. Here is a quick overview of the process.
Please note that the Web of Science may change their website structure, so this information may not be accurate. If you notice an accuracy problem please log an issue to have someone look into that! Thanks!
- Go to this website.
- Log in using your credentials, account or organisation (your university or institution may be listed).
- Search for files about any topic, for example with "Machine Learning" as a topic.
- You will see a list of results. Click on the little arrow next to "Save to other file formats", and select this option.
- The number of records you may download varies. 500 is the current limit. Specify that you want to download records from 1 to 499 for example, and select the Tab-Delimited UTF-8 format if available. If this format is no longer available please log an issue.
IMPORTANT STEP Make sure that you select a Full Record with Cited References. If no references are present, no useful graph will be produced. Replace "Author, Title, Source" with "Full Record and Cited References" in the dropdown section.
- Follow this Wiki page to turn these data files into visualisation graphs.
