Meeting Notes

See here for a short status update.

Remy presents change management process: IP-address change of incoming IP of global service is considered minor change Xiaoxia says WMO shared IP-addresses of Global Service with all WIS2 NFP Currently 19 WIS2 Nodes apply security control via whitelisting IP addresses Maaike asks if there is any back-and-forth for minor changes to confirm adjustments made Jeremy suggest to agree on a lead-time for minor changes

ET-WISOP to decided if "The change is of limited impact" or "The change mag affect operations of the Global Services. The Global Services should be retested" Depending on type of change a different approach may be needed

Xue Lei asks if ET-W2IT will provide different scenario's and how to deal with them for ET-WISOP Remy says no the scenario's would be too diverse

Maaike question/comment: If ET-WISOP to judge on changes being major/minor, ET-WISOP may need to be strict to ensure stable operations, as judging scenario's can be hard as everything is new. ET-WISOP to be risk-adverse rather than "trust" the implementer ?

JMA Cache is completely different, JMA requests to be tested again.

New recipe in cookbook for requirements for WIS2 Node implementation:

  • Maaike asks what the process is for the cookbook to become an official source of information
  • Remy proposes to have 2 PDFs a year. WMO community page can refer to released version of cookbook.
  • Maaike asks if we can socialize wis2-cookbook to get wider WIS2 Community to provide feedback.

Jose got a question from Peru asking how can we see the data on WIS2 from Peru is being used by others

new properties.cache-id to be added to message from GC:

  • Maaike to ask Anna about fasttrack for changes
  • Jeremy to follow-up on GDC implementation

Tom presents changes in WCMP2, Maaike asks if any of these changes are breaking (e.g. existing WCMP2 records becoming invalid) ? Tom says no but maybe yes and in that case he will contact data producers.

Tom present changes in WTH, Remy mentions that the change to publish only on /metadata is a breaking change. GB implementation needs to be updated to detect and discard invalid metadata topic.

Tom present changes in WNM, we note one breaking change: only one link allowed of type update/delete/canonical, where currently WNM has 2 links: one for update had a canonical and an update link

Actions

  • Jeremy to follow-up on GDC implementation for properties.cache-id
  • Maaike to ask Anna about leadtime for fast-track changes
  • Tom to check about changes in WCMP2 leading to records currently in GDC becoming invalid and follow-up with data-producers
