Update of Action Items (June 2020) - wmo-im/et-acdm GitHub Wiki
√ AI2019-1: To bring ancillary variable PBL height (and related variables) to the attention of SSC and discuss how they could fit into the GAW data management (Jörg Klausen, November 2019)
March 2020: reported by to GC by JK. Received response: we can not just include this variable in the list of the GAW ancillary variables as it should go with a definition and description of measurement techniques. This is probably the issue for the joint discussion between research board and Infrastructure commission. If you look at the CIMO Guide (https://library.wmo.int/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=12407#.Xm5jxnJKjIU ), PBL is not included in the list of meteorological variables at this point. There will be something related to PBL in the section on urban measurements. Closed. Reported on github: issue # 174 https://github.com/wmo-im/wmds. Related issues: #168, #169, #170, #173 and #174
AI2019-2: To review WMDS codetable 7-06 (Level of data), cf. https://github.com/wmo-im/wmds/blob/master/tables_en/7-06.csv and create issues if necessary. (all, Dec 2019).
Update in March 2020: All WDCs need to confirm that they are happy with this code table, or comment on this issue if they are not. Input required from members.
AI2019-3: All WDCs to (re-)establish/confirm metadata exchange with GAWSIS-OSCAR/Surface. (March 2020: Drasko Vasiljevic and all , 20 Nov 2020).
Consult with MeteoSwiss and https://library.wmo.int/doc_num.php?explnum_id=5844 (Section 3.12) for guidance and present timeline. activity. Drasko reported and reporting progress and plans at the meeting on 28 April. Work in progress.
√ AI2019-4: To send example of MPLNET metadata to be encoded in WMDR XML to MeteoSwiss. (Judd Welton, asap).
Update in March 2020: Judd will review information on WIGOS metadata and elements- variables and created new MD System not yet used which can handshake with WIGOS but will form basis for MD GALION-wide and to send it to Jörg. Update April 28: Judd sent an example of metadata file information for GSFC MPLNET to meteoswiss. Closed.
√ AI2019-5: To verify existing recommendation on licenses from TT-WMD, inform ET-WDC (Jörg Klausen, Nov 2019) and suggest additional codelist entries (all WDCs, Dec 2019).
Update March 2020: 2 fast track periods per year exist and could be used. Closed.
AI2019-6: Gao Chen and Tom Kralidis to follow-up on DCIO/GEOMS exchange mechanisms and inform the next ET-WDC telco.
Update 28 April: G. Chen and T. Kralidis: Gao and Tom met in February and continue to work towards aligning the NDACC renewal with WOUDC for listing relevant NDACC data on WOUDC as current. WOUDC is working on the same approach with Eubrewnet. Gao Chen: in terms of NDACC transition, we are starting the data submission tool test with selected PIs. So we can anticipate the LaRC site will go parallel at some point later this year. Meanwhile, we can tailor our tools to collect metadata for Tom. Work in progress.
AI2019-7: To review of project/programme level of variables’ names consistency. (Judd Welton, Jörg Klausen, Markus Fiebig, 2020).

Update June 2020: Gao and Enrico to discuss
AI2019-9: To draft a document on representation of uncertainties in WIGOS metadata (TT-WMD and TT-OD, together with OSCAR/Surface team at MeteoSwiss/WMO, 2020).
