4. WIS2-WIGOS-OSCAR/Surface - Current developments affecting ACDM
Slides from WIS 2.0 progress presented:
-
WIS 2.0 will use WIGOS metadata representation, OSCAR will be the metadata repository. Topics would define a scope (application, variable, etc...) needed for subscription/publishing.
-
Data users can look for information in OSCAR and/or subscribe to a topic.
-
Still not tested for atmospheric composition, focus on NRT data.
-
Discussion about what is WIS 2.0 going to provide to the subscribers: metadata: https://wmo-im.github.io/wcmp2/ via MQTT; large data sets need to be made them available on your own server: via machine actionable links.
topic hierarchy for WIS2
5. Finish discussion of-
Review the Action: Review and comment draft Proposal
-
Sara Basart from the Secretariat GAW/modeling invited to engage in the discussion of the topic hierarchy, that would give voice to data users. Action: Sergi to share topic hierarchy proposal with Sara
-
Operational centres should review the topic hierarchy because the WDC usually don't do reanalysis and prediction/warnings. Invitation for them to engage too: Action: ICAP community to be consulted.
-
WIS 2.0 topic hierarchy not decided yet, further discussions needed. Within the ET-ACDM it still not clear the way WIS 2.0 works, hence the topic hierarchy is also difficult to understand. Action: Tom to prepare a Power Point with a clear example of how WIS 2.0 works from the user perspective: someone searching for something and subscribing to
