https://github.com/wmo-cop/et-wdc/wiki/ET-ACDM-2022-5-WG-Topic-4

  • Consider other GAW ACDM vs topics like
    • near-real-time data
    • ‘cloud’ infrastructure
    • Integration of mass data sources (IoT-based, non-traditional sources)
    • Model data
    • Big public (e.g. ECMWF, EEA, …) and private (e.g., IBM, Google) service providers?

Additional information and background material (non-prioritized brain-dump at this stage)

  • WIS and WIGOS. WMO should find a strategy how these 2 could join forces in a better way, e.g. by improving interoperability. That would make it easier for GAW partners to contribute.

  • Responding to the requirements expressed in the WIGOS Vision 2020-2040 as the relate to atmospheric composition image image image image image image image image

  • More cross-cutting exchange between WGs in GAW. Some connections for information exchange have been lost when introducing the last reform of WGs, and cross-cutting information exchange could ad-dress that problem.

  • More harmonized structure, more consistency of WDC in terms on access, what is available, data for-mat, MD- we work on for some time. Perhaps virtual federated structure could be a solution.

  • Development and use of appropriate data exchange formats and harmonization of the GAW data and metadata standards with WIGOS

  • Support development and promote quality control and monitoring of the data through the WIGOS Data Quality Monitoring System (WDQMS) Role of data center or repository

  • Review objectives of GAW Implementation Plan 2016-2023 and 2024-2027

  • Identify common objectives of ET-ACDM

  • Expectations of participants w.r.t. ET-ACDM, review structure, membership

  • Assess readiness to support operational and research needs SG-GHG

  • Establish individual action items for 2023

  • WMDR2.0 based on OGC/OMS & I-Adopt: Status and plan

  • Assess readiness to support operational and research needs

  • Atmospheric composition in Urban environment

  • Good practices for PIDs within GAW community

    • granularity, e.g., per data set, per year, per deployment, ...
    • scope, e.g., individual variable time series, per country, per variable, ...
    • formulate requirements for WIGOS metadata standard
