Minutes

  1. The members of the Task Team on Protocols met on Friday 29th January 2020 to discuss the agenda reproduced above.
  2. The participants considered if questions about the role of Message Queuing Protocols (MQP) in WIS 2.0 should continue to be discussed in the team and decided that given the concrete mention of MQP in the Terms of Reference of the task team, such questions would be better discussed further in a different setting. The chair and Secretariat offered to organize a separate meeting on the value of MQP with participation of the chair of the Expert Team Operations and Monitoring as well as the chair of the Standing Committee on Information Management and Technology.
  3. The task team went through the list of github issues proposed by the lead to be closed. All issues except #13 (download scheme) were confirmed closed. The detailed discussion is captured in github.
  4. The participants learned that no info paper from the task team was planned to be presented to the upcoming session of INFCOM. The task team agreed to transform the info paper draft into specifications laying out requirements for participants in the MQP pilot projects, and with a view of ultimately turning the paper into the basis for the update of the regular material.
  5. The meeting agreed to discuss the open github issues in the next meeting.
  6. The participants agreed to meet again in the beginning of March 2021.
