CAN bus connection - wladwnt/CAN-Gateway GitHub Wiki

A typical TTE controller from Hoval has two options for connecting to a CAN bus: via screw terminals and via RJ45 connectors. Both belong to the same CAN bus and both can be used to connect the TTE controller to the CAN-Gateway development board. The CAN-Gateway development board also has an RJ45 connection (even 2x, see below) and screw terminals.

One of the connections on the TTE controller is typically already used to connect the touch control module, as the touch control module also has both connection options on the back side.

CAN-Gateway development board can be used to loop through this connection. Or you can use the other free connection. The connection via RJ45 interfaces alone is advantageous because you can then simply plug it in and you don't have to be particularly careful about connecting the cable to the correct screw terminal.
