Introduction

What is Omnicore?

Omnicore allows AndroidAPS to be used with the original Omnipod ('Eros' pods and not currently Omnipod Dash). The Omnicore app runs on an Android device, alongside a special version of AndroidAPS. The only hardware required is a RileyLink. (No Raspberry Pi is needed... Omnicore is not to be confused with Omnipy which came first).

Currently (since 6 July 2019, and still the position at 22 November 2019) Omnicore is in alpha testing. Please note that it contains various bugs (including issues with reliably recording temporary basal rates in aaps; UI issues; plus connectivity issues). It cannot therefore be considered ‘released’ although it has over 100 daily users. Work on a followup beta release is underway. Please join the slack channel (omnicore channel) (nb this is a revised link 22/11/19), or see Baris’ blog for updates. It is your decision to test it as you see fit, it is also your responsibility to ensure that it's working as you intended it to.

If you want to install and use this software, please pay close attention to the following:

• Any new features are tested by a limited audience and for short term use. Something new may seem working at first, but then it may not and it may bring down everything.
• Installations are not supposed to be backwards compatible, so you may lose information when switching from a alpha/beta release to another one (either beta or a public release). You will e.g. need to reconfigure the application and lose the historical information.
• Some features may be present but inaccessible due to them being not fully functional.
• You must check for updates regularly for new releases and upgrade as soon as possible
