Doc: MIT StreetScore - wimlds/smart_cities GitHub Wiki
This dataset consists of a perceived safety score for locations in Boston and New York. It was created by researchers at MIT:
We calculated these scores by using machine learning and computer vision algorithms trained on less than 3,000 images from Boston and New York that were manually scored through a crowdsourced visual survey. It is important that users of this dataset interpret it in the narrow context of the data collection method and its limitations.
Please visit their site for an explanation of their approach and the limitations of the data.
