User Roles

User

A user is a registered user that has the privilege to view unpublished changes of the taxonomy (candiate taxonomy). Anonymous users cannot view these changes.

Contributor

A contributor is a registered user having the same privileges as a user that, additionally, may propose changes to the taxonomy (proposals).

Reviewer

A reviewer is a registered user having the same privileges as a contributor that, additionally, may review proposals and accept (merge) proposed changes into the (release) candidate taxonomy.

Reviewers are responsible for specific group(s) of taxa and may only review proposals affecting these groups. Multiple reviewers may be responsible for a single group of taxa and a reviewer may be responsible for multiple groups. In case multiple reviewers are assigned to a group of taxa it is sufficient that a single reviewer accepts a proposal.

Changes proposed by a reviewer must be accepted by another reviwer in order to be merged into the current candidate taxonomy.

Taxonomic Coordinator

A taxonomic coordinator is a registered user having the same privileges as a reviwer that, additionally, may change the candidate taxonomy directly without creating proposals and publish the candidate taxonomy as the new taxonomy release.
