FUEL (2006) - widberg/fmtk GitHub Wiki
FUEL (2006) by Firetoad Software is not FUEL (2009) by Asobo Studio (the game this Wiki is for), and the two are unrelated in every way except for the naming collision. This confusion happens often enough, so I felt the need to write a page about it. For simplicity, since this page is about the 2006 game, when I refer to "FUEL", "the game", or a similar term, I am referring to that game, not the one we know and love.
The "(2006)" is a bit misleading. The game wasn't released in 2006; that was the year of the final due date before it was canceled. The Unreleased Games Wiki has a page for FUEL with lots of good information. Importantly, it mentions the game's earlier name, "Everglade Rush". There are two prototypes available on Hidden Palace: FUEL (Aug 21, 2006 Prototype) and FUEL (Aug 26, 2006 prototype). GameFAQs has a box scan for FUEL, which looks more like a promotional image of the box art than something that was scanned off a box that was actually produced. IGN even wrote about the game soon before it was canceled for the final time, calling it "long-delayed". They have more articles about it from earlier in development too, under FUEL [2007]. The "2007" is quite annoying since that's the year it was canceled and almost everyone else uses the year it was due to release, 2006. Game Pressure has a page with some bulleted features of the game. Unseen64 has a page for FUEL, which also references Asobo's FUEL. The comments on that page also mention more demos from when the game was called Everglade Rush before it needed to be renamed.
