Overview

This project is about designing two types of fruits that are specifically in different biomes/realms based off of Minecraft.

End users

  • For my end users, this is for the my Minecraft fans of all ages who always thought about having the game developers to add new things/updates than having the same object they'd get as materials or food. People would want new materials, different types of food in other biomes depending on which game mode they play in.

  • I'd want my users to find this project enjoyable by finding something they haven't seen and used before in the future by making decent animations and make it stand out more in their dull biomes. They would expect my projects to be ordinary fruits compared to the other resources they collected but they would experience a 'unnatural' design from their past experiences in the game.

Fruits that are found in their chosen biomes of choice.

Examples:

  • The first fruit is called a 'Honey Moon' because it is found at night and will be found hanging under a tree trunk - Spruce Forest
  • The last fruit is called an 'Withering Berries' because it's found as a flower with berries inside - Pale Garden

Requirements

  • Honey Moon
  1. Include a stem connected to the fruit and the tree
  2. A opening and closing animation by using armature. {Opening in night, Closing at day}
  3. Animating a gentle sway motion at a slow speed

Style :

  1. A soft glowing effect (a dim, warm glow)
  2. Smooth petals with slightly rough edges from stem
  3. Pixelated Minecraft-style texture
  • Withering Berries
  1. Flower-like structure containing berries inside
  2. Include a decaying animation over time
  3. Subtle idle movement (pulsing or twitching)

Style :

  1. Dark palettes (Purple, grey, dark reds)
  2. Pixelated Minecraft-style texture
  3. Berries be able to visually stand out from the flower

Implications

  • Aesthetics: I'll be adding shades of blue and a mix of yellow to give it a honey-like glaze on the inside so the player can easily think of the object as an actual fruit in a different design. (Different shapes, I mean)
  • Usability:
  • Functionality:
