Group and Legion System - weyn666/SW GitHub Wiki

Groups

Second Wind mod has the possibility to cooperate in a group, the possibility works exclusively between players of same faction, players from hostile factions cannot join the group.

To create a group, you need to approach a player and send them an invitation to join you through action "Add to Group". Any member of your group can invite other players from your faction. You can exit the group using a hotkey (configurable in the game keyboard settings in"!SECOND WIND" tab - "Leave Group" key).

While you in a group, you can observe the class icons of group members, which makes it much easier to orient yourself in various situations. You can see your teammates icons starting from a distance of 1500 meters, their icons and usernames from 1000 meters, and you can also see the icon when your teammates in a vehicle.

Legions

Legions/clans/squads can be created either through the armasquads website or through armaunits. Legions allow you to observe the icons of your teammates immediately upon joining the server, without the need for additional actions such as adding them to a group. Note: A legion will not display the icon of your squadmates if they are playing for an enemy faction.

How to create

There are two ways to create your own legion:

Arma Units

  1. Go to https://units.arma3.com/.
  2. Log in through Steam.
  3. Create your own unit.
  4. Make sure to fill in the email address field.
  5. Invite and accept your friends into the unit.
  6. When launching Arma, in the launcher, select your created unit.
  7. Check your unit in the game profile settings, under the "Unit" tab.
  8. Join the server, play, and enjoy the capabilities of the legion.

Armasquads

  1. Go to https://armasquads.com/
  2. Complete a simple registration and log in to your account.
  3. In the menu located in the upper right corner of the website, select the "Squads" tab.
  4. Click on the "Create Squad" button.
  5. Fill in all the important fields to your liking; here, the logo and email are not mandatory, unlike in the case of ArmA Units.
  6. After completing this you will see your new squad, and what interests us is the link to it. This link you will need to give to anyone you want to add to the legion. Of course, you will need to add each member on the website.

You need to put squad link into the "Unit URL" field, which can be found in the game profile settings, under the "Unit" tab. You will need the character's ID (the numbers in the unchangeable field nearby) to add your friend or yourself to the legion on the website through the "Members" tab.
