In Second Wind mod there are dogs that can provide players with quite good advantages, such as detecting players and assisting in fighting zombies.
Dogs in the mod are implemented as animals that can either be available at the start of the game (for the Nomad class) or discovered during your travels on the map. To tame a dog you will need to have a raw meat in your inventory (obtained by gutting animals). Come close to the dog and use "Tame Dog" action and after this procedure you have your own pet that will assist you in various situations, both against players and zombies.
The dog has several behavior modes and can execute various commands such as: sit, track animals, attack any hostiles (attacks enemy classes and zombies), attack hostile classes (attacks only enemy classes, ignoring zombies), call (dog follows you) and even hop into your vehicle to travel with you by get in action.
When a threat is detected the dog will bark and you will hear it. From that moment you should be attentive because it could be either a zombie or an enemy-class player detected nearby, depending on your dog's behavior settings. Your dog can distinguish between your allies and enemies, so there's no need to worry about your dog biting an ally resulting in a score penalty. On the contrary if your dog kills your enemy you will gain points.
Dogs have their own group logo so you will never lose sight of them. If your dog has wandered off for some reason just call and dog will come back to you.
