List All Loanwords in the Qur'an

This page provides information about the "List Loanwords" feature available on the Qur'an Tools website.

How to Use

• Select "List Loanwords" from the "Browse" menu under "Word Lists".
• The page displays a list of loanwords along with their details, including:
  • Chart icon to view a chart of loanword usage per sura
  • Lemma (Arabic and transliterated)
  • Root (if available)
  • Gloss (English translation)
  • Occurrences
  • Action icons for:
    • Definition/discussion in "The Foreign Vocabulary of the Qur'an"
    • Exhaustive list of all occurrences
    • Chart of occurrences

• Action Icons

Action Icons

• Jeffrey Icon: View definition/discussion
• List Icon: View exhaustive list of occurrences
• Chart Icon: View chart of occurrences

Tips

• Click on any item in a row to open the verse browser and view verses where the word appears.
• Use the arrows at the top of the table to sort the table by any column.
