Help: Formulaic Density by Verse

This page provides detailed instructions on how to use the Formulaic Density by Verse report in Qur'an Tools.

Key Features

  • Lists formulaic statistics for each verse in a sura.
  • Allows users to choose formula length and type.
  • Provides options to view data as a chart, list formulae, and reference verses.
  • Includes columns for roots, roots involved in formulae, and formulaic density.

Instructions

  1. Click on any sura number in the Formulaic Density and Usage Statistics per Sura report.
  2. The Formulaic Density by Verse report will display.
  3. The report includes the following information for each verse:
    • Formula length and type
    • View as a chart
    • List all formulae in the sura
    • Reference
    • Roots
    • Roots involved in formulae
    • Formulaic density

Additional Notes

  • The report can be sorted by any column using the arrows at the top.
  • Clicking on any number in the roots involved in formulae column will open the verse in the verse browser with the formulae coloured blue.
  • The formulaic density chart can be viewed by clicking the st.gif icon at the top of the column.
