Lab #2 Steps - wAlber47/Tech-Journal GitHub Wiki

  1. Open your vSphere page, https://vcenter01.cyber.local or use https://viewportal.champlain.edu for remote access.
  2. Ensure that your Windows 10 workstation can ping champlain.edu.
  3. Edit the network adapter settings so that ad01's Network Adapter is SYS255-B-LAN-yourname.
  4. Start up the VM, skip the product key, and set a strong Administration password that you will remember.
  5. Launch Server Manager.
  6. Make sure you have settings that match these.
  7. Reboot and once restarted, run commands to ensure name changed and that you are connected to the internet.
  8. Download ADDS role.
  9. Promote the server. After doing this we will receive a DNS error.
  10. On your next login, you will be logging in as the Domain Admin instead of the Local Admin.
  11. Next, you will add a DNS Record.
  12. All that's left to do after that to do is to add the Windows 10 workstation to the domain.
