Lab #1 Steps - wAlber47/Tech-Journal GitHub Wiki

  1. Open your vSphere page, https://vcenter01.cyber.local or use https://viewportal.champlain.edu for remote access.
  2. Modify the settings of Firewall 1, (fw01), and change the first network adapter to WAN and the second to LAN-myname.
  3. Power on fw01. You should now see a screen that resembles a terminal.
  4. Next, you must assign interfaces for the VM. WAN should connect to the first interface, and LAN with the second. The default will not show this.
  5. Then, you will need to set interface IP addresses. Once that is complete you are almost done.
  6. Go back to vSphere and change the network adapters for our Windows 10 workstation, (wks01), so that it is on the LAN segment. After doing this turn on the VM and configure it.
  7. Once booted up, navigate to the IPv4 Properties, through the control panel, and network options. Force the machine to use set addresses, subnet masks, gateways, and DNS servers.
  8. Change computer name to wks01-william.
  9. Navigate to the fk01 GUI through a web browser and login.
  10. Then you need to change some settings through the system wizard.
