Recharter 2021 - w3c/webpayments GitHub Wiki

The (then current) Web Payments WG charter expires 31 December 2021. This is a rough timeline for renewing it, based on the rechartering guide.

• 5 August: Announce via email and at WPWG call this rechartering plan. Invite suggested changes to charter.
• 19 August: Web Payments WG discussion of revised charter.
• 30 August: Start CfC for charter, ending 9 September
• 9 September: Announce WG decision
• 9 September: Team contact requests review of revised charter by Strategy Team (see the funnel). Team contact also requests horizontal review of the charter (via GitHub label). Horizontal review period ends 23 September.
• 28 September: Resolve issues. Request 29 September review by W3M.
• 29 September: Start W3M review until 12 October
• 6 October: W3M decision.

Note: At this point in the schedule Adrian Hope-Bailie announced his plan to step down as co-Chair, so the staff made a decision to identify new chair(s) prior to sending the charter to the Membership for review. The timeline

• 19 November: Extend current WG charter until 31 December 2022
• 19 November: Start AC review until 17 December. Begin addressing any formal objections from the AC during this time.
• 17 December until ?: Work to resolve any formal objections
• If subsantative changes to the charter, seek confirmation from Members who reviewed it (for 7 days)
• Request W3M discussion if needed
• W3M discussion if needed
• Announce renewed charter.
