At the face-to-face meeting we discussed post PR API 1.0 feature ideas and merchant use cases. We heard from large US merchants with sophisticated checkout use cases a desire for 91) greater flexibility in how and when they can collect stored data and (2) greater control over the look and feel of the user experience.
We discussed this a bit at our 25 April call and realized it may be a good time to discuss the priority use cases for Payment Request API moving forward.
Merchants today have flexibility in when they collect data and in styling the user experience through the use of HTML forms (e.g., in conjunction with autofill). Payment Request intentionally bundles functionality and look in feel in the name of a consistent experience across the Web.
At this call we would like to hear the perspectives of Working Group participants on their priority use cases moving forward.
