-
Soldering station
-
Non conductive tape for display connector
-
Double sided Tape for display
-
2 Omron B3S-1000 buttons
-
Display (this guide is using CH147QV01A Color-TFT)
-
A wifi antenna for the ESP-32 (this guide is using the recommended AFAG2220-SW2 antenna)
-
A coin or big flat screwdriver to remove the tank
-
PH1 and PH0 (cross) screwdriver
-
Needle nose pliers can help
-
Big towel or soft mat to prevent scratches on the machine body when laying th machine onto the table
-
Multiple towels (Water can drip if you rotate the machine)
- Solder the display
- Add some isolative tape on the exposed connections
- Solder the two buttons (Omron B3S-1000 or similar) onto the board on position SW1 and SW2
- Add some doublesided tape and some spacer (~1.5mm) for the display (It should also work without the spacer). Then bend the display onto the double sided tape.

- Solder the TE 280372-1 header (You can use a standard 2.54 mm pin header instead, but this is highly recommended). Note the orientation of the connector. It shall be the same as seen in the picture below.
Generally to remove the original LCC you can follow the steps in this video from Lelit. Watch out to not scratch the outer surface of your lelit, as this can happen very quickly. Use a soft mat or a towel to protect the covers if you turn the machine on its sides.
Lets start:
- Remove the watertank from the the machine, there is no need to remove it completely. You can leave the tubes attached to the machine. Remove all other screws on the top:

- Rotate the machine to its back and remove the 2 front feet by turning them counterclockwise. Untight the marked screws on the bottom so it is possible to slide the cover away.

- Rotate the machine 180°. And remove the back cover.

- Mount the feets again rotate it to its upright position
- Untighten the two orange marked screws on the LCC bracket. Remove the red marked screw. (Be carefull not do drop that screw into the machine, it is a pain to retrieve it again ;)). Remove the bracket that holds the LCC together with the LCC. Gently plug out the 6-Pin connector (Pull on the connector not the cables!)

- Remove all the screws and the LCC case.

- Remove all the screws that keep the LCC in place.

- Mount the open-lcc board in the same way as the stock LCC with the 4 screws and check if you can push the buttons.
- You can drill a hole in the grey plastic cover of the LCC or just route the antenna trough an exiting cutout. Gently plug in the WIFI antenna into the ESP-32(NOTE: There is a better way to mount the antenna but I do not have any pictures for that, please see the last picture to get the idea of how to route the antenna cable). Mount the plastic cover with the screws and metal bracket as seen in step 6.

- Route the 6-Pin cable trough the opening of the removed metal bracket that holds the LCC case in place and plug it into the open-lcc board. Now is a good moment to turn on the Machine and check if the open-lcc turns on, and you can change the set Temperature with the buttons. Do not touch any other cables as they are under high voltage (230V AC)! If you think it works as expected, remove the mains cable from the machine.
-
Check again if the Mains cable is removed ;) Now you can reassemble the machine. Remount the open-lcc as seen in step 6. Check if the display is not tilted and tighten the middle screw to fix the open-lcc in place. If you unplugged the 6-Pin cable, plug it into the open-lcc board. The antenna should hang out to the side of the machine as seen in the figure below.

- Remove the the front feed and mount the back. Mount the back plane in a way that the antenna cable fits in the slot on the side
