PCSX2 Installation (1.6 Legacy purposes only) - vStar925/Mortal-Kombat-Deception-Remastered GitHub Wiki
If you found yourself on this page on/after July 17, 2022, you more than likely should be looking at this version of the guide as it is for the latest version of Dolphin. Otherwise, this page remains unedited from its original format
Installing PCSX2
-
Install the latest nightly build of PCSX2. Do NOT download the stable release (currently 1.6.0 as this version does not support texture packs.) I do not know the difference between the the AVX2 and SSE4 versions, but I use AVX2 so for the sake of this guide, you should too.
-
Extract the archive anywhere. To use both the emulator and this pack, you'll need a PS2 BIOS and a copy of Mortal Kombat: Deception. I will NOT tell you how to acquire these things, but Google will tell you all you need to know. For more detailed instructions, read the official PCSX2 setup guide. Confirm both PCSX2 and Mortal Kombat: Deception work before continuing.
Setting up PCSX2 to Load Custom Textures
-
After you have both a PS2 BIOS, a copy of Mortal Kombat: Deception and have confirmed they both work as intended, it's time to enable custom textures.
-
Inside PCSX2, navigate to Config>Graphics Settings>Advanced.
-
In the section labeled Texture Replacements, tick the Load Textures box. Click OK.
- Inside your PCSX2 root folder, which will look like this if it is a brand new installation, create a folder titled textures.
PCSX2 is now ready to load custom textures.
Installing MKDeception Texture Pack Kollection
-
Extract the pack anywhere and move the SLUS-20881 folder into the textures folder we created earlier.
-
That's it! Run Mortal Kombat: Deception from PCSX2 and it will automatically load the textures from the SLUS-20881 folder.
