Handlebar Rotation with Wheel (for Bikes) - user-grinch/ModelExtras GitHub Wiki
๐ด Overview
This feature adds realistic handlebar rotation that syncs with wheel movement for bikes in the game. By using the fork_front
and handlebars
nodes, you can achieve dynamic handlebar motion, making bike controls feel more immersive. โ
This works with default bikes, as long as they have these two nodes.
๐ Requirements
Before you start, make sure you have:
๐น A bike model (.dff
file) that you want to enhance.
๐น The fork_front
and handlebars
nodes included in the bike model.
๐ ๏ธ Steps to Enable Handlebar Rotation
Follow these steps to integrate handlebar movement:
1๏ธโฃ Open your bike model (.dff
file) in 3ds Max, Blender, or ZModeler.
2๏ธโฃ Locate or create the fork_front
and handlebars
nodes.
- โ Ensure they are correctly placed to represent the front fork and handlebars.
3๏ธโฃ Save your modified bike model.
๐ฎ Example
Imagine you have a bike model with the correct fork_front
and handlebars
nodes:
๐น Open the model in your 3D software.
๐น Verify that both nodes are present and properly positioned.
๐น Save the changes and test it in the game.
๐ When you ride your bike, the handlebars will rotate in sync with the wheels, making the bike feel more natural and responsive!
โ Compatibility
โจ This feature works perfectly with default bikes if they include the fork_front
and handlebars
nodes.
๐ No extra components neededโjust improved realism for your bike handling!
