Best Practices to submitting issues and opening pull requests on GitHub: Best practices from General Transit Feed Specification were shared with the members along with a variety of existing examples. Members were encourage to consider following tips as they start their engagement on GitHub:

  • One specific topic per pull request
  • Extended description/justification of the proposed changes
  • Provide reference links and detail modification to the spec
  • Active discussion and frequent update by advocate

Proposed Prioritization Ranking by Co-chairs: The Co-chairs explained that issues and pull requests will get prioritized and scored based on their complexity, priority, difficulty to implement, capability to collect/provide data element, immediate use cased, etc. Subgroup members were encouraged to submit issues and pull requests with enough details for the co-chairs to be able to prioritize them appropriately. Members were also informed that issues/pull request templates will soon be developed for their use - everyone is able to submit issues/pull requests at any time.
