Subgroup Purpose and Scope

  • The co-chairs introduced themselves
  • Shane Zumpf reviewed the purpose and scope of the Technical Assistance Subgroup as well as the group’s updated charter

Early Adopter Interviews

  • Curtis Hay discussed the findings from the early adopter interviews with TxDOT, MassDOT, and MCDOT
    • Interest in method for identify reoccurring work zones
    • Improved and more detailed examples of WZDx specification field definitions
    • Desire to understand the quality of data and define performance metric for the standard
    • Would like to understand the needs, desires, use cases of data consumers
  • Curtis highlighted tools that were used to develop the WZDx data feeds

GitHub Technical Assistance Forum

  • Chuck Felice gave an overview of the Technical Assistance Forum
    • Chuck provided examples of previous posts
  • Chuck also discussed the purpose of the CAV helpdesk

Next Steps and Action Items

  • Chuck Felice shared the group’s plans for publishing the early adopter interviews in the form of a guide
  • The co-chairs will review and develop business rules for the next update cycle
  • The co-chairs will also work on producing a self-validation checklist for new data feeds

Open Discussion

  • Meredith Nelson expressed interested in hearing the different experiences of those developing a data feed starting from scratch versus enhancing existing systems
    • The co-chairs expressed hope at capturing this in the early adopter guide
