'Create Marks' tool is a valuable feature for setting markers in a specified survey area for further analysis, whether in GIS software or our own UgCS software. If needed, you can export these marks as a .kml file for use in GIS applications or for viewing in Google Maps or Google Earth.
Please note that this option is only available in the licensed version of the software!
You can purchase GeoHammer Pro here.
In this tutorial, we use sample dataset with 2 parallel gas pipes - download here
- Use the “Open files” toolbar button or Drag & Drop the required file for processing to GeoHammer window:
- We need to select our survey area, where seperate profiles will be made. Use the “Select Area” button to choose desired survey area and click “Apply Crop”.
- Remove all existing marks using
button, and disable altitude map layer using button
above the map.
- Click
to fit the single profile to the window. For navigation between profiles, you can use buttons with arrows
and
.
- Let`s adjust gain to our profiles, so we could better see the underlaying layers and hyperbolas. In top right corner use the Contrast slider to adjust gain. We can also use function "Remove background" to eliminate or dampen horizontal lines in the data unrelated to our survey.

- Now we will start setting marks where we have located hyperbolas. Double-click to the top of hyperbola, and then click
button - you will see that flag is inserted both in profile and on map:
Repeat the same sequence to mark all objects of interest by flags:
When you will save files, marks will be saved inside of files and will be visible in geophysical software.
