Tables - ucsf-ckm/ucsf-library-ux-and-web-documentation GitHub Wiki
Overview
- We use the plugin TablePress to import or create tables.
- There are options and features set for each table individually (checkboxes)
- There are also fields for optional css classes or custom commands (to do things like set the default sort order)
- We do have some styles set in our custom css sheet (Appearance > Simple CSS) using tips from the TablePress FAQ. Some of these styles apply to all tables and others only to single tables with a certain ID.
Examples: simple tables
There are some of these simple lists around the site:

Examples: complex tables
There are also a few tables that are more complex and include the ability to sort by column.

Editing a table
You can use the Table Manipulation area, but it's often easier to right-click and explore the contextual menu
Inserting a table into a web page
These are placed into an Elementor page using the shortcode widget and syntax like this:
[table id=24 / hide-search-box=true]
Inserting a table into a new post?
- If there is ever a case for putting a table in a news post (those use the native WordPress block editor, not Elementor) use the TablePress block
