News: single post template
Updated in 2020 to be more readable for users, as well as to draw more attention to post authors while still including a prominent call to action for newsletters. In 2022, the template was updated again to make the featured image smaller and more static and predictable.
The archive page template generates pages dynamically and is created using Elementor Pro (otherwise the generic theme version would be used)

It's possible to create a single post template for a specific category that has some additional custom content.
News: all posts

Design

- Create everything in Elementor except the list of post categories, but drop in the Elementor sidebar widget as a placeholder
- To make category links display, go to Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets and drop Categories into Right Sidebar and add title: Topics
- Set number of posts to 12 (so it's divisible by 2 or 3) by going to Dashboard > Settings > Reading. This setting applies across all archive templates on the site.

We can use one template to display each category page the same way, but it's also possible to customize for an individual category, for example, adding basic archives information to the bottom of template, for example News by Category for archives and special collections
