Site Customization

The MiGrid software stack relies on skins for look & feel of the public and private user pages. Some samples are included in the mig/images/skins/ folder already and you can add your own skins to customize anything from images and logos to page element arrangement and styling with CSS. The easiest way to do that is probably to copy one of the existing skins/SITESKIN subfolders into your own MYSITE folder there for modification and request use of it with the --skin=MYSITE option during configuration generation.

A number of static pages and web page snippets are also included for direct use, but can also just be replaced with your own versions to suit your site. In the state/wwwpublic/ folder you will find index-SITE.html pages that can be used directly as the main public landing page by symlinking or copying to index.html. The different support-SITE.html, tips-SITE.html and about-SITE.html files there can be copied or symlinked into X-snippet.html (e.g. support-snippet.html) for automatic integration in both those existing front pages and on the site private user pages. The contents of support-snippet.html is e.g. integrated as FAQ and support contact notes on the front page and inside the Support button pop-up on site user pages. Similarly for the about-snippet.html on the front page and the About button on user pages.
