The DWC Network Server Emulator has been pre-populated with copies of every previously-released Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Mystery Gift distribution for all Generation 4 Pokémon games. The Mystery Gifts will be distributed to connected Nintendo DS systems according to the local date set on the Nintendo DS, as well as the Game ID of the connected game.
The event that is distributed to your system will depend on when that specific gift was distributed in real life. Not only does this make it easier for you to choose exactly the gift you want, it also makes it easier to receive gifts that can be considered legitimate. For instance - a Night Sky Jirachi received sometime in 2019 is obviously not legitimate, however a Night Sky Jirachi with a "received" date between June 26th 2010 and July 16th 2010 would be indistinguishable from another Night Sky Jirachi that was actually received from the real Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection nearly a decade ago.
Below is a comprehensive list of which Mystery Gifts you can receive, which Generation 4 Pokémon game they will be distributed to, along with the local Nintendo DS date range they will be distributed during. Distribution times were sourced from Serebii and Bulbapedia.
With the exception of Japanese and Korean language games, all events will be distributed to each individual game language at the same time. If there were slight text differences between a Mystery Gift distributed to USA-English games and PAL-English games, you will receive the one appropriate to your region. The Mystery Gift you receive will match the language of the game you are using (even the Azure Flute!)
If an event shows up twice, it means that event was originally distributed again through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection at a later date. You can use the DWC Server Emulator to receive that event during either time period, however you may only receive that gift once per save file.
