Define-

file system: Defines how data is stored on a drive

Some examples of file systems....

FAT16-a file system supported by DOS and all windows versions since DOS. DOS and windows 9x have a 2GB limit. Newer windows have a 4GB limit.

FAT32-a file system that supports hard drives up to 2TB in size

exFAT-a file system type that improves upon FAT32 by having a theoretical max file size of 16EB

physical disk: Are magnetic-media hard disk drive (HDD) or solid-state disks (SSD)

volume: A section of a storage device that receives a drive letter and data can be written to it

partition: A process that can divide a hard drive so that the computer sees more than one drive
