Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - tylergibbs2/Tsundoku GitHub Wiki

Why Tsundoku over <insert alternative here>?

There are several alternatives to Tsundoku, but none of them provide a specialty in anime. Many torrent clients are even able to download from RSS feeds themselves directly. Due to Tsundoku's specialty in anime, it is able to provide anime-specific features that many of the alternatives don't have.

How can I stream anime with this?

Tsundoku isn't an anime streaming app. It is intended to download anime (via torrents) and then move the files to another location. For streaming, I recommend pairing it with Plex or Jellyfin.

How can I fix a show having the wrong poster art?

Edit the show, and then click the Fix Match button in the top right. From there, you can search for the show with the correct title and poster art.

What is an episode offset?

An episode offset is a positive or negative number that will modify the episode number as it appears in the actual release. It sounds complicated, but it's actually quite simple, and it usually only matters when a show has more than one season.

Depending on the release group, a release may have a continuous (always counts up) or a seasonal (resets on new seasons) episode number. When the downloaded file is moved, the episode offset is used to linearly modify the episode number from the release to what you need it to be.

For example, if you have Spy x Family - Episode 13, some websites consider this to be episode 1 of the 2nd season. By setting an episode offset of -12, Tsundoku will then modify the episode number of this release to be 1.
