724mix — Simple mixer with text interface for YMF724 sound cards.

"724mix is a simple mixer with a textmode interface for YMF724-based sound cards. It also supports YMF724-compatible chips such as YMF740, YMF744 and YMF754. This mixer works in aggressive mode only - sets are constantly resent to a hardware audio codec of the sound card. You can choose the delay between sendings by changing 'Resend delay' parameter in sets of 724mix. A bigger delay provide a lower cpu usage, but may way to longer periods of a wrong sound level. The default delay is 100 msecs. 724mix can switch some AC'97 compatible features such as 'Mono to Stereo' (Simulated Stereo), 'Bass Boost' (Loudness), '3D Mode' (3D Stereo Enhancement) in case if an audio codec of the sound card supports this features. Else messages 'Not supported by the CODEC' or 'No 3D Stereo Enhancement' will be written."

Opus

Opus is a totally open, royalty-free, highly versatile audio codec. Opus is unmatched for interactive speech and music transmission over the Internet, but is also intended for storage and streaming applications. It is standardized by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) as RFC 6716 which incorporated technology from Skype's SILK codec and Xiph.Org's CELT codec. Opus can be adjusted seamlessly between high and low bitrates, and internally, it transitions between a linear prediction codec at lower bitrates and a transform codec at higher bitrates (as well as a hybrid for a short overlap).

Opus has a very low algorithmic delay (22.5 ms by default), which is a necessity for use as part of a low audio latency communication link, which can permit natural conversation, networked music performances, or lip sync at live events. Packages include Library for developers an tools for decoding/encoding audio files.

Authors: Xiph.org Foundation et al. (2001-2019); OS/2 ports by Gianfilippo Cimmino, Italy (2013); Takashi Ebisawa, Japan (2012); Dave Yeo (2016).

Play & Record — Records WAV file directly to HD.

"Play.exe & record.exe are apps I used to test the recording capabilities of GUS drivers as well as Alaw, Ulaw & ADPCM support. Since the standard OS/2 digital audio app is quite limited I thought you might like these little apps to test the limits of your GUS Max, PnP or Interwave card.

Both are very basic. Record saves the recording settings right in the beginning of the data file and saves every buffer it gets from DART to this file. Play reads the recording settings and plays the following audio data."

It plays most MPEG/VOB, AVI, Ogg/OGM, VIVO, ASF/WMA/WMV, QT/MOV/MP4, RealMedia, Matroska, NUT, NuppelVideo, FLI, YUV4MPEG, FILM, RoQ, PVA files, supported by many native, XAnim, and Win32 DLL codecs. It works with X11, Xv, DGA, OpenGL, SVGAlib, fbdev, AAlib, DirectFB, but you can use GGI, SDL (and this way all their drivers), VESA (on every VESA compatible card, even without X11!) and some low level card-specific drivers (for Matrox, 3Dfx and ATI), too! Most of them support software or hardware scaling, so you can enjoy movies in fullscreen. MPlayer supports displaying through some hardware MPEG decoder boards, such as the Siemens DVB, DXR2 and DXR3/Hollywood+.

MPlayer has an onscreen display (OSD) for status information, nice big antialiased shaded subtitles and visual feedback for keyboard controls. European/ISO 8859-1,2 (Hungarian, English, Czech, etc), Cyrillic and Korean fonts are supported along with 12 subtitle formats (MicroDVD, SubRip, OGM, SubViewer, Sami, VPlayer, RT, SSA, AQTitle, JACOsub, PJS and our own: MPsub). SMPlayer — Audio and video player.

"SMPlayer is a free media player with built-in codecs that can play virtually all video and audio formats. It doesn't need any external codecs. Just install SMPlayer and you'll be able to play all formats without the hassle to find and install codec packs.

One of the most interesting features of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play. So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't worry, when you open that movie again it will be resumed at the same point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track, subtitles, volume...

SMPlayer is a graphical user interface (GUI) for the award-winning MPlayer, which is capable of playing almost all known video and audio formats. But apart from providing access for the most common and useful options of MPlayer, SMPlayer adds other interesting features like the possibility to play Youtube videos or download subtitles."
