Individual projects - assessment

The 'big project' is an opportunity to design, plan and create a working programme for a stakeholder/client - and so demonstrate that you can use the skills gained so far in this course in a real-life context.

The project is assessed using 2 internally assessed Achievement Standards:

AS number Title Credits Type/link to NZQA
91906 Use complex programming techniques to develop a computer program 6 credits Internal (NZQA)
91907 Use complex processes to develop a digital technologies outcome 6 credits Internal (NZQA)

Term 3 Overview

Continue with projects and prepare for two externals:

The externals (quick reminder 2 times 3 credits), is a DCAT (digital test at school and held at the start of Term 4.). My experience is that students can do this very successfully. The topic we are doing is yest to be decided. The external that you do about your project is very straightforward - I will cover this in just one lesson before the end of term.

Term 4 Overview

Wrap up and external assessments.

AS number Title Credits Type/link to NZQA
91908 Analyse an area of computer science 3 credits External (NZQA)
91909 Present a reflective analysis of developing a digital outcome 3 credits External (NZQA)
