Individual projects - assessment
The 'big project' is an opportunity to design, plan and create a working programme for a stakeholder/client - and so demonstrate that you can use the skills gained so far in this course in a real-life context.
The project is assessed using 2 internally assessed Achievement Standards:
AS number | Title | Credits | Type/link to NZQA |
---|---|---|---|
91906 | Use complex programming techniques to develop a computer program | 6 credits | Internal (NZQA) |
91907 | Use complex processes to develop a digital technologies outcome | 6 credits | Internal (NZQA) |
Term 3 Overview
Continue with projects and prepare for two externals:
The externals (quick reminder 2 times 3 credits), is a DCAT (digital test at school and held at the start of Term 4.). My experience is that students can do this very successfully. The topic we are doing is yest to be decided. The external that you do about your project is very straightforward - I will cover this in just one lesson before the end of term.
Term 4 Overview
Wrap up and external assessments.
AS number | Title | Credits | Type/link to NZQA |
---|---|---|---|
91908 | Analyse an area of computer science | 3 credits | External (NZQA) |
91909 | Present a reflective analysis of developing a digital outcome | 3 credits | External (NZQA) |
