"...the song I played at the get-together is a part of an experiment. What I'm trying to do is to develop a fictional character with a back story and some "depth" to her -- in the same way that fiction writers do for their characters -- and then, instead of having the character speak via words in a short story or novel, do it by having her perform songs. The songs on the album "Same Moon" are those performances.
You'll see on audiomack that Jenny is a second experiment. The first was the Littlefield albums, intended to give Port Townsend some sea songs of its own. For those I was getting to understand the tools available to me. I was focused on how to develop songs and (mostly) chose incidents from PT's history as the subject matter, rather than on developing a character."

GR"This was a dual-purpose project of 1) making another stab at learning General Relativity, and 2) seeing what AI can do. I started in NotebookLM stuffing it with the modern differential geometry tools (tetrads, forms, connections, etc) that would allow me to ditch the normal coordinate based approach to curvature and then asked NotebookLM to create a textbook outline. I moved that outline into Gemini and did the rest of the work there. You can see the whole dialog that generated the book here. And the incomplete textbook is here.
