The EPUB build produces an EPUB 3.0 file that is validated with the latest version of Epubcheck. Epubcheck is bundled with b-ber.

The Reader build is a deployment-ready website that renders content in a horizontally scrolling reading application.

The Mobi build produces a file with the extension .mobi. The Mobi file is a bundle that contains both the Mobi 7 and KF8 formats, which can be read by both older and newer Amazon devices.

The Web build produces a deployment-ready vertically scrolling website. b-ber creates an additional index.html file as an entry point to the project and inserts the navigation and some base styles into each XHTML page.

The PDF build produces a PDF file with embedded metadata such as author name, publisher information, and table of contents. Please note that the PDF build type is a work in progress.

The XML build produces an Adobe InDesign optimized XML file. The xml command will create a new project-epub directory with the compiled contents, and then creates an <project-id>.xml file in the project's root directory. b-ber removes any HTML that will cause issues during import to Adobe InDesign, and inserts pagebreak XML elements into the document where they occur in the original flow of the project.
