The light cubes will tell you when the battery gets low by blinking a special code. The low battery sequence is: red, then green, then blue, then N lights where N is the cube number. Source: https://forums.anki.com/t/blinking-cube-while-no-script-is-running/5289

Anki considers a low battery to be 1.1 volts (20%) or lower. The cube will still function at 1.1 volts but one should consider replacing the battery soon.

The cube reports both battery_voltage and battery_percentage. Max voltage is 1.5 volts. Percentage is calculated as (volts - 1.0) / 0.5, so when the battery gets down to 1 volt it is considered to be at 0%.
