DLA P & DLA S - tony48/Unofficial-KNES-Wiki GitHub Wiki
DLA-P and DLA-S are the two main versions of the Ariane-derived DLA rockets. DLA-P, the smaller variant is a three stages launch vehicle. The first two stages were solid boosters derived from the Ariane 5 EAP and the third stage used liquid propellants. DLA-S was basically a DLA-P with a bigger fairing and placed on top of an Ariane 5 Booster. These two launchers were designed as a complement to the heavy Ariane 5 to launch small and medium payloads to low orbits. The missions of the DLA were taken by Vega for the DLA-P and Soyuz from CSG for DLA-S.
