Ariane 3 is heavily based on Ariane 2, with two strap-on solid fuel boosters, the PAPs. Surprisingly enough, Ariane 3 first flew two years before Ariane 2... Also, if you think that it's just an Ariane 2 rip-off, keep it quiet. You wouldn't want your success rate to crash down for unclear reasons.
