Welcome to the tomboy-ng github wiki!

tomboy-ng is a note taking app that works and syncronises between Linux, Windows and MacOS using a shared file system. It will Sync to Github over the net allowing both sync and direct access to your notes on any device able to browse to the private Github repo (Android, iPhone etc). It features a rich text markup, printing, spell check, backup and snapshot capability. Import and export (plain text, RFT, MarkDown). It has Tomboy's automatic linking between notes, searching abilities, NoteBooks and a similar interface.

Importantly, tomboy-ng has little, or in most cases, no unusual dependencies and so is an easy and lightweight install. Most people use the binary install kits but you are welcome to build from source.

Also available is TomboyTools it provides a means to import or export notes individually, as members of a Notebook or in a directory. A range of formats include Markdown, plain text, HTML (following tomboy style links) and Man Page. Note that importing Tomboy notes into tomboy-ng is not necessary, they both use the same format, just copy the notes over or point tomboy-ng to the directory already containing your Tomboy notes.
