RIP lab

Summary

In this lab we learned how to configure RIP version 2 on packet tracer routers. We enabled RIPv2 on routers, advertised the other subnets and observed the packets crossing subnets using RIPv2

Procedure

1. download this packet tracer file -> Link to Champlain Canvas Page
2. enable RIP on the router
3. from config mode type: router rip
4. then type: version 2
5. lastly specify the networks connected to the router you're working on.
6. repeat this process for the other routers.

In order to inspect the packets traversing the network you must follow these steps:

1. In packet tracer switch to simulation mode
2. under event list filters click show all/none
3. select RIP (make sure only RIP is checked)
4. click capture/forward button
5. find a packet and click the info box to display the packet details
