Below details some basic nmap controls that are necessary for having a basic understanding of the program.

-sV Version Scanning

-A OS Detection, Version Detection, Script Scanning and traceroute

-p defines a port exmamples include:

-p 3389 for one specific port -p 1-6000 for a range of ports and -p 139,80,443,3389 for a list of ports

Reflections:

I didn't have much trouble with this lab, once my VM was all set to go, I just ran the nmap commmands with relative ease. The only thing that should be a problem are potential networking issues, but I had none.
