The Aquila Project - tlbrierley/Cosmic-Encyclopaedia-Index GitHub Wiki
One of the keys to humanity's liberation, the Aquila Project was a fleet of 12 drones equipped with heat-dispersion stealth systems. Although the fleet was fully capable of operating as unmanned ships, the project accounted for the possibility of human crew. The fleet served the resistance for 20 years, going undetected and securing multiple informatic victories for humanity. During it's 20th anniversary, members of the Arcadia Research Station joined the project adding 3 new ships to the fleet. Ships that, ultimately contributed to the fleet's downfall in the Battle of Tethys
Each of the drones was designed with a specific purpose:
- Aquila-1: Mobile base of operations and head command of the fleet, capable of hosting a crew up to 10 members.
- Aquila-2/3/4/5: Fighter drones to defend the fleet.
- Aquila-6/7/8/9/10: Scouting and espionage drones equipped with various interceptors meant to trace, disrupt, and copy enemy transmissions.
- Aquila-11/12: cargo ships that could carry supplies for the crew of Aquila-1 or samples to be returned to the resistance.
- Aquila-13/14/15: Arcadian additions to the fleet that tried to reinforce the defenses of the fleet by sacrificing essential anti-detection components in favor of stronger firepower.
A single ship, Aquila-7, remains today as the crown exhibit of the Terran museum of Aerospace History and Technology along a memorial to the brave soldiers that gave their life securing the Europa Codex.
