What can be said about Echo-magnetic Railguns, that science fiction has not already said a thousand times over. The weapons provided by Arcadia have long been named as such, but do not technically follow the misquoted, scientific principle of Echo-Mangesis, nor are they technically railguns due to not using any form of magnetic propulsion. but nobody is really expecting creativity to come out of Arcadia in terms of names.

Echo-Mangesis : Disambiguation - Principle (Adj) Force (verb) : The utlilisation of binding forces between two instances of phase shifted Manganese (27), most commonly used in biological, biomechanical, and biomilitary applications.

Railgun : Disambiguation - Weapon (Noun) : linear motor device, typically designed as a weapon, that uses electromagnetic force to launch high-velocity projectiles.

While most historic media still uses the term Echo-magnetic railgun, the technical term for the weaponry donated by the Arcadia research station is a "Second alternate shift common orbital marker. or a SasCom as it is more commonly known in military documentation. Second alternate shift refers to the positioning of the slave organelle in relation to its master organelle, second alternate being its maximum point of displacement, and Common orbital marker of course referring to the practice of having an ultra long range weapon fire a slug of low half-life material into an enemy hull in order to track them into deep space.

In truth the "weapon" that was donated was intended to be more of a deterrent in the early days of the war, when The Occupation first learned of humanity amd their bad habit of appearing in clandestine space with an entire fleet, and removing any trace of a wayward starship.

Echo-mangesis at this time was a toy to the Arcadians, merely a byproduct of the hormone sysnthesis in their bio mechanical weapons, but it would go on to become far more dangerous in the later days of Earth’s 25th century history. The turning point of course was the discovery of manganese 27 in living creatures capable of short range phase shifting and localised teleportation, the find that pushed the field into an entirely new direction, with masters in the disciplines of orgmentation and biomechanical science leaping on its discovery.

Much as The Occupation believed humanity to be easily dominated, EMR was destined to be a dead technology, and it led to a weapon that is to this day idolised as one of the fiercest weapons of FTL warfare, immortalised on posters adorning walls across the known systems, still retaining its science fiction moniker of the Echo-Magnetic Railgun to this day.

The EMR is a symbol of why humanity is hard to remove. because even the accidental discoveries we make have a habit of becoming deadly to the wider galaxy.
