Installing CVE‐DB into WIndows - tkocou/CVE GitHub Wiki

In the Code listing, click on the CVE-DB.exe file name. Then click on the download icon in the upper right.

After downloading the executable, move it to the C:\Users<your logon account> directory. If you need to determine which directory is your home directory, open either a command window (Windows 11) or a Powershell (Windows 10). The directory listed before the prompt will be your home directory.

Then execute the program CVE-DB.exe. If your Windows security says that the program is "unsigned", tell it that it is okay to execute.

A new directory will be created called CVE. Within that directory will reside the database file as well as several directories called JSON_"VEC", CSV and REPORTS. If the database is missing, it will create a new one.
