Bose End-of-Life Announcement for SoundTouch Products

In light of the recent End-of-Life Announcement for SoundTouch Products by Bose (dated 2025/10/11), it should be noted that some functionality in this integration will cease to function after the specified cut-off date of May 6, 2026 (formerly February 18, 2026). Per the Bose press release, the features that will be discontinued relate to their integrated music services (e.g. Spotify, TuneIn, Pandora, Deezer, Sirius XM, etc), as well as their preset functionality. See the above release for more details. Other than that, we just don't know what will be affected.

I believe most of the other SoundTouch supported services happen on the local network with direct communication to the device (e.g. DLNA streaming, device control / volume / input switching, etc). But that is just a guess. The easy way to tell what will be affected is to unplug your router from the external internet, try the various Bose functions, and see what breaks. Simple as that.
