Technical

  • Code for status effects from eating foods has been moved to an advancement-based structure instead of a scoreboard-based one. Objectives abnether_rabbit, abnether_rawbeef, abnether_beef, abnether_r_stew, and abnether_b_soup are no longer used and can be removed.
  • Code for randomization has been moved to predicates instead of killing random area-of-effect clouds.

Additions

Gameplay

  • Players now spawn/respawn randomly arround the world spawnpoint instead of always spawning at 0, 33, 0.
  • Players are given a Stone Pickaxe when spawning for the first time.
  • Added 4-12 Spectral Arrows trade to bartering with a weight of 5.
  • Added 1-3 Crying Obsidian trade to bartering with a weight of 8.
  • Added 8-16 Blackstone trade to bartering with a weight of 8.

Items

  • Golden Axes, Iron Axes, Diamond Axes, and Netherite Axes all cause Endermen to drop Diamonds.
  • Netherite Armor gives you Fire Resistance if your health is at or below a threshold of 2 hearts + an extra 2 hearts per piece of Netherite Armor. A full suit of armor will give you Fire Resistance at full health.
  • Water Buckets can be crafted from a Bucket and three Tears.
  • Totems of Undying can be crafted from 8 Gold Ingots and a Nether Star.
  • Saddles can be crafted from 5 Leather and 2 Iron Ingots.
  • Gunpowder can be transmuted in a Magic Chamber from Redstone.
  • Added Pitchfork. Works identically to Tridents. Allows Endermen to drop Diamonds.
  • Pitchforks can be crafted from a Stick, a Netherite Ingot, and three Blaze Rods.
  • Brimstone enchantment for Pitchforks. Creates an explosion and summons a Silverfish when the Pitchfork is thrown directly into fire.
  • Hightail enchantment for Pitchforks. Running while holding the Pitchfork gives you Speed, then also Jump Boost at level II, then also Slow Falling at level III.
  • Guillotine enchantment for Pitchforks. Adds +3% chance for Skeletons or Wither Skeletons to drop a skull, up to level V (15%).
  • Igneous Raft enchantment for boots. Automatically places Magma Blocks into or over lava from your hand. Igneous Raft II provides a 50% chance to not take a Magma Block from your inventory when replacing lava directly.
  • Added Cockatrice Legs that refill 6 hunger and Spicy Cockatrice Legs that refill 2 hunger and grants Fire Resistance for 15 seconds.
  • Spicy Cockatrice Leg can be crafted from a Cockatrice Leg and Blaze Powder.
  • Added vanilla Compass crafting recipe.
  • Added Music Discs for Avril 14th by Aphex Twin and The Blue Wrath by I Monster. These are not yet obtainable outside of Creative mode.

Blocks

  • Lodestone recipe added using 8 Chiseled Basalt Bricks and a Netherite Ingot.
  • Lodestone has been retextured to resemble Basalt.
  • Added Soul Fire Pit, a decorative block that Soul Fire can be lit on. Crafted with 3 Basalt Bricks and either 1 Soul Soil or 1 Soul Sand.
  • Permafrost can be transmuted from Magma Blocks and can be used to turn flowing Lava into Basalt.
  • Blackstone can be transmuted from Basalt.
  • Added Paper Block, a decorative block that can be crafted from 4 Paper Combs.

Entities

  • Wild Cockatrices now replace 1/50 Zombified Piglin spawns.
  • Cockatrices now have 100 max health.
  • Cockatrices drop feathers and cockatrice legs.
  • Wild Cockatrices shoot fire when a player approaches them.
  • To tame a cockatrice, it must be brought to 20 health or lower.
  • Cockatrices can be bred with Salted Eyes of Ender.

Gameplay

  • Using commands to go to the Overworld in Survival or Adventure mode does not automatically "respawn" you back to the Nether.
  • Respawning from a Respawn Anchor does not give the player Fire Resistance, Slow Falling, or Resistance V.
  • The data pack will notify you upon joining a world if your resource pack is out of date.

Blocks

  • Gold Ore will continue to drop itself instead of Gold Nuggets.

Entities

  • Wasps despawn when there is no player within 64 blocks and they do not have a home Wasp Nest. This does not affect Wasps that are renamed (despite Name Tags being unobtainable).
  • Hijacks do not create Cobwebs or particle effects unless there is a player within 16 blocks.
  • Endermen and Hijacks spawn more often.
  • Wasps spawn less often.

Textures

  • Tipped Arrows recolored to match Arrows.
  • Gold parts of Pistons changed back to iron.
  • Furnace recolored to match Basalt.
  • Pig's Tail has been retextured.
  • Salted Eye of Ender has been retextured.

  • Attempting to go through a lit Nether Portal will deactivate the portal and damage the player.

  • Soul Sand Valley structures have been redesigned to be much larger.

  • "Cover Me in Gold" advancement now branches from the "Recycling" advancement.
  • "Getting an Upgrade" advancement now requires an Iron Sword instead of a Stone Sword.

  • Fishing Rod recolored to match other wooden tools.
  • Textures added for Note Block and Smithing Table.
  • Scaffolding retextured and remodeled to include Weeping Vines inside the block.
  • Unique texture added for Crafting Table bottom, Bookshelf top and bottom, and Fletching Table bottom. The Oak Planks, Birch Planks, and Pumpkin side textures are no longer overwritten by the resource pack.
  • New left and right side textures added to the Skull Block and Skull Lantern.
  • Crafting Table, Bookshelf, Fletching Table, Skull Block, and Skull Lantern remodeled so as to not overwrite textures for blocks that aren't used.
  • Stone model no longer uses the Netherrack texture. Double Netherrack Slabs now use the Netherrack texture directly.
  • Cobblestone model no longer uses the Basalt texture. Double Basalt Slabs now use the Basalt texture directly.
  • Iron Golem texture's vines recolored to be red, matching the Weeping Vines.
  • Slimeball and Slime Block textures recolor to be slightly bluer to match the Twisted Vines.
  • Piston and Sticky Piston textures recolored.

  • Meatloaf added. Can be crafted from 3 Weeping Vines, 3 edible mushrooms, 2 Salted Cooked Porkchops, and 1 Syrup Bottle. Can be placed and eaten like cake.
  • Charred Log, Ashen Planks, Ashen Slabs, and Ashen Stairs added but are unobtainable.
  • Charred Logs can be crafted into 4 Ashen Planks, which can be crafted into Stairs and Slabs as expected.
  • Can be obtained with the /give command by giving purpur blocks, pillars, slabs, or stairs.

Entities

  • Wasps added. They spawn in Warped Forests and become hostile when a player enters within 5 blocks of them. Wasps also do not die after they've stung a player.
  • Wasps don't become hostile if they have the Weakness effect.
  • Wasps can pollenate mushrooms, fungi, roots, Nether Sprouts, and Wither Roses, and can be breeded with all of the same blocks.
  • When a Wasp pollenates a block, it can create another of that block on nylium as it flies around. This does not work with Wither Roses.
  • Cockatrices can be bred with Twisted Brambles.

Removals

  • "You Won't Be Needing That" advancement removed.
  • "Isn't It Iron Pick" advancement removed.

  • Piglin trades have been re-balanced.

Items

  • Mushroom Stew is now crafted from 3 of any combination of Red Mushrooms, Brown Mushrooms, and Crimson Fungi, and 1 Bowl.

Blocks

  • Gravel has been changed to Slag.
  • Flint drop rate for Slag has been decreased relative to the Iron Nugget drop rate.
  • Ender Chests are now crafted from Chiseled Quartz Blocks instead of Obsidian.
  • Weeping Vines no longer smelt into Sugar.

Fixes

  • Enchanting Table GUI still showed an outline of Lapis Lazuli.
  • Recolored many overlooked wooden parts of block and item textures.

Additions

Gameplay

  • Players in Survival and Adventure mode now automatically spawn and respawn in the Nether. They are granted Fire Resistance for 45 seconds, Slow Falling for 30 seconds, and Resistance V for 15 seconds.

World Generation

  • A Bedrock spawning platform has been added that generates at coordinate 0, 32, 0. New worlds generate with a chest containing 64 Netherrack and a Wooden Pickaxe.
  • Many new structures have replaced some of the fossils in Soul Sand Valleys.

Items

  • Books and Quills can now be crafted from 1 Book, 1 Feather, and 1 Black Dye.
  • Warped Wart has been added. It can be crafted from 1 Nether Wart and 1 Warped Roots. It has replaced Fermented Poison Spores as the replacement item for Fermented Spider Eye.
  • Crimson Spores have been added. They can be crafted from Crimson Fungi and can be planted on the sides of Crimson Stems, Stripped Crimson Stems, Nether Wart Blocks, and Shroomlights. After planting, they can be harvested for Crimson Fungi.
  • Sugarthorn has been added. It can be planted on Magma Blocks and grown identically to Bamboo. It can be traded from Piglins.
  • Sugarthorn is now used to smelt Sugar instead of Weeping Vines.
  • Weeping Vines can be smelted into Ghast Tears.
  • Syrup Bottles have been added. They can be crafted from 1 Glass Bottle, 1 Sugar, 1 Ghast Tear, and 1 Nether Wart. They can be drank to restore hunger, cure poison, and gain saturation.
  • Salted Porkchops have been added. They can be crafted from 1 Raw Porkchop and 1 Ghast Tear and refill 1 extra hunger points from Raw Porkchops.
  • Cooked Salted Porkchops have been added. They can be crafted from 1 Cooked Porkchop and 1 Ghast Tear or smelted from Salted Porkchops. They refill 2 extra hunger points from Cooked Porkchops.
  • Meat Stew has been added. It can be crafted from any two of the edible mushrooms plus 1 Cooked Salted Porkchop and 1 Bowl. Mushroom Stew can be used instead of a Bowl and two mushrooms. 1 Cooked Porkchop and 1 Ghast Tear can be used instead of a Cooked Salted Porkchop. Blaze Powder can be added to this recipe to make Spicy Meat Stew. Meat Stew refills 14 hunger points and grants Regeneration for 15 seconds when consumed.
  • Spicy Meat Stew has been added. It can be crafted from Meat Stew and 1 Blaze Powder. It refills 8 hunger points and grants Fire Resistance for 30 seconds when consumed.

  • The expected recipes for Crimson and Warped Signs have been added.
  • Soul Soil can be crafted from 4 Soul Sand in a 2 x 2 square.
  • Sticky Pistons can be crafted from 1 Piston and 1 Magma Cream.
  • Flower Pots can be crafted from Nether Brick.
  • Scaffolding can be crafted from 6 Sugarthorn and 1 String.
  • Nether Wart Blocks and Warped Wart Blocks can be harvested slightly faster with swords and much faster with shears.
  • Netherrack Slabs and Stairs have been added.
  • Basalt Slabs, Stairs, and Walls have been added.
  • Warped Wart Blocks can be crafted from 9 Warped Warts.
  • Blue Nether Bricks has been added. It can be crafted from 2 Warped Wart and 2 Nether Brick in a checkerboard pattern.
  • Blue Nether Brick Slabs, Stairs, and Walls have been added.
  • Magic Chamber has been added, replacing the Smoker. It can be crafted from 7 Blue Nether Bricks, 1 Iron Bars, and 1 Diamond. It is used to transmute items.
  • Skull Blocks have been added. They can be traded from Piglins or found generated in Soul Sand Valleys. They can be worn to prevent aggravating Endermen.
  • Skull Lanterns have been added. They can be crafted from Skull Blocks and Torches and emit light.

Entities

  • Blazes drop Iron Nuggets.
  • Hijacks have been added. They are spiders that spawn in Warped Forests on Warped Nylium. They're slow, but nearby players are inflicted with slowness and entities that get way too close are poisoned for 15 seconds! Wearing a helmet can protect you from the poison.
  • Hijacks drop String and Warped Fungi, making many string-based recipes available.
  • Every so often, if a Hijack is standing on top of Warped Nylium, it will create a Cobweb and convert the nylium into Netherrack.
  • Cockatrices have been added but do not yet spawn naturally. If tamed, they can be flown.

  • Ghast Tears can be thrown into Cauldrons to fill them with water.
  • Rate of nuggets to ingots increased to 6:1.
  • Nether Wart can be smelted into Redstone.
  • Charcoal can be used to craft Black Dye.
  • Red Mushrooms or Crimson Fungi can be used to craft Red Dye.
  • Brown Mushrooms can be used to craft Brown Dye.

  • Poison Spores can be crafted from Warped Fungi and are identical to Spider Eyes.​
  • Fermented Poison Spores can be crafted from Poison Spores, Sugar, and Brown Mushrooms and are identical to Fermented Spider Eyes.​
  • Salted Eyes of Ender can be crafted from a Ghast Tear and an Eye of Ender and are identical to Golden Carrots.​
  • Peridot can be smelted from Nether Quartz and is identical to Lapis Lazuli.​

Removals

  • Clocks, Compasses, and Cartography Tables can no longer be crafted.
