The environment contains challenges for the player and a world to explore. Here ingredients will placed high in the rafters, at the back of cobweb-filled broom cupboards, and ethereally bound by candle-lit rituals. The living document that the level designers use for puzzle ideation can be found here.

Concept Art

Our game takes place inside of the witch's tower, focussing on this stage of development in her living room. It's our aim to make the living room in the same vein as Peach's Palace in Super Mario 64, in that it is a place where the player can explore and enjoy simply controlling the character in the space, but may later be used as a hub to access other areas in the tower.

Old Testing Chamber

Central to the chamber is the cauldron where ingredients are brought to be mixed into new potions. The Witch is also present here ready to provide commentary and advice to you her faithful enchanted servant. The Living room has several areas of differing verticalities, such us up in the roof beams to tucked back in a broom cupboard to provide variance for the platforming level design. Throughout the room will be challenges and puzzles that can be unlocked or passed by with the use of the two potions we have scoped for this stage of development.
